Introducing our 'Meet the Crew' spotlight series - where you get to know more about members in the sports community. In our first part of our series, we would like to introduce Ravi, one of our first ambassadors for the Meet the Crew Members series and he also participated in our first running event last month. Hear his story now below:
1. How did you start out in being a member for sports clubs?
“I've always adhered to the credo that a balanced lifestyle is key to a fulfilling life. When I lived in Phoenix and trained for my first marathon, I joined a fantastic running community. We not only shared a common passion for running but also general health, fitness and other broader interests. Running fosters a strong sense of community and togetherness. Later, when I first moved to San Francisco 15 years ago, I was very fortunate that my place was a stone's throw away from an ashtanga yoga center. That was my gateway into a wonderful community of ashtanga yogis that laid the foundation for my yoga practice until this date.”
2. How did you get into sports and what are your hopes for future sports groups?
“I was born in a family of sports people, so it was natural for me to take up sports. I've always believed that playing sports, especially group sports, is a character building experience.”
3. Favorite thing about SF?
“San Francisco , with its unique marine layer phenomenon, is blessed with almost perfect weather year round for outdoor activities, such as running, hiking and even walking.”
We are thankful to have Ravi as one of our first Meet the Crew member representative! Do you happen to share similar hobbies or thoughts with Ravi? Please let us know in the comments and stay tuned for our upcoming Meet the Crew series.
