October is almost over! We are about to approach November now -- and in this edition, get to know some upcoming events for November in the Bay Area and in the LA area. If you're around those two areas, read more about it below.

1. Connecting Conversations: Mental Health and Our Bodies(Virtual Event)

Event description:

Are you an advocate for mental health and happen to be part of the minority event? Look forward to this event. The causes of poor mental health for LGBTQ+ communities—stigma, discrimination, isolation—are widely recognized. What still needs to be discussed however, is how do we keep ourselves well? In this Connecting Conversation panel discussion, we will look at one of the less discussed sources of community wellness, our bodies.

Join the conversation as our panel of experts discuss how movement, play, and sports can connect us with our bodies and improve mental health. We will cover topics including the impact of physical activity on mental health, barriers that prevent people engaging their bodies, and the community ties that come from being active. Whether you're an ally, a member of the LGBTQ+ community, or just someone committed to positive change, this event will connect you with relevant information and people doing the work to improve LGBTQ+ health. 2. Fall Pickleball Festival: SF Social Club x Volo Sports

Event description:

Are you a Pickleball fanatic based in the Bay Area? Here you can show off your skills and be eligible to win special prizes. Join SF Social Club and Volo Sports at the Bay Club Gateway for a pickleball tourney and festival! Our first pickleball tournament was such a huge success in June that we had to do it again...warm and cozy edition. 🍂 Think hot chocolate, cider, smores, and of course, connecting with others over some friendly competition! 3. Run Happy Los Angeles - Run Club

Event description:

Based in the LA area and need get back some of your daily run rush? Join Run Happy Los Angeles for a three mile fun run every Tuesday at 6pm. We meet inside The Brig (1515 Abbot Kinney in Venice). We'll head out after a quick group picture, running along Abbot Kinney to the Venice Boardwalk. We'll head north on the boardwalk, running just over a mile and a half, before turning around to head back to The Brig. Come for the run, stay for the snacks and community. All paces welcome.
